Please note that our trips are generally catch and release only.  We kill fish only in the tiny handful of locations where doing so is suggested or required for fisheries conservation reasons.

Guided Trips

Introduction to Our Guide Service

Parks' Fly Shop has been in the fishing guide business since the shop's inception in 1953, longer than most guides in the area have been alive.  Ours is a small operation focused primarily on the area within fifty miles of our front door.  This narrow focus gives us an unparalleled knowledge of the rivers and lakes in Yellowstone Park and Montana on which we fish and guide.

We offer walk & wade guided fishing trips on public water both inside and outside Yellowstone National Park, walk trips on the famous Paradise Valley private spring creeks, float trips on the Yellowstone and Madison Rivers, and for the adventurous, float trips targeting carp on the upper Missouri River.  Half-day and full-day options are available for most trips, and we'd be pleased to help you plan multi-day combinations of guided trips.

In addition to our standard guide trips, we can put together custom fly fishing trips for groups ranging from individuals to more than a dozen people.  These programs range from weeklong Samplers of all the fishing our area has to offer to multiple float trips along the entire section of the blue ribbon Yellowstone River we fish to multiday fly fishing schools.

Please click the links to your left for more information on a specific type of trip or to acquaint yourself with our guide staff.  Also note our "Discounts" page, which provides information on the variety of discounts we give for multi-day bookings, early bookings, etc.  If you have other questions or want to talk about scheduling a trip, e-mail us or give us a call.  We take all reservations by hand over the phone, so there's no possibility of any sort of technological mixup resulting in a trip that somehow doesn't make it onto our calendar.

Please note: All guide trip clients are required to have or be ready to purchase eyewear (polarized sunglasses strongly suggested), rain gear, and a hat.

A deposit of one-half the cost of your trip is due when booking.  Check our Guide Trip Faq for more infoWhat's included in the above rates?  Click here. Please note that the rates above do not include additional access fees for the Paradise Valley spring creeks or other private waters.  Shoulder season rates apply from roughly March 1 until the day before the YNP opener and from October 20 until roughly November 15.  Rate is for one or two anglers.  Three angler trips and half-days are not available.

*Parties of more than two anglers per guide are only possible on walk & wade trips. We strongly encourage a ratio of one or two clients per guide on all trips.  This dramatically increases the guide's efficiency and results in much more personal attention for each client.  In addition, many of our waters are not suitable for more than two anglers at a time, so destinations for large parties may be limited.
